Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltar had an online meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia Philip Malone on February 25. They discussed issues relating to bilateral transport cooperation as well as priority areas of cooperation.
Minister L.Khaltar voiced pleasure with the introduction of the rail fastenings and railway sleepers made with advanced British technologies to Mongolia and expressed an interest in using the fastenings in ongoing and future railway projects, while also stressing the importance of prompt and constant supply of fastenings in punctual implementation of railway construction projects. Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ A Mongolian delegation led by Minister of Road and Transport Development L.Khaltar participated in the International Transport Forum (ITF)’s Pre-Summit Ministers’ Roundtable on Transport and COVID-19 held virtually on December 10.
Irish Minister for Transport and for the Environment, Climate and Communications Eamon Ryan chaired the meeting in which fthe ministers had a high-level discussion on impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on transport and shared their experiences.
In his remarks during the meeting, Minister L.Khaltar said Mongolia, as a new member, will be taking active part in the ITF’s activities and presented the measures the country is taking to solve the transport challenges caused by COVID-19 and the transport ministry’s plan for the future.
