August is Transgender History Month in San Francisco, and one segment of the trans population we don't hear a lot about is immigrants. Many queer and trans people came to San Francisco to flee discrimination- and often violence in their home countries.
Part party, part riot, part gala, Sunday night’s Riot Party helped close out Transgender History Month, and commemorated the 56th anniversary of the Compton’s Cafeteria Riot, an early turning point in the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement.
