New leasing team takes over downtown Dallas’ Santander Tower Colliers International’s Sara Terry will be representing the building formerly known as Thanksgiving Tower. Colliers International now represents the 50-story Santander Tower.(Woods Capital ) The owner of one of downtown Dallas’ familiar skyscrapers is shifting gears with a new marketing firm. Commercial property firm Colliers International is taking over the leasing of the 50-story Santander Tower at 1601 Elm Street. Long known as Thanksgiving Tower, the 1.4 million-square-foot downtown office high-rise is home to Santander Consumer USA and is owned by a partnership headed by Woods Capital. Colliers International’s Sara Terry who recently joined the firm after working on the redevelopment of downtown’s Trammell Crow Center will be representing Santander Tower.

Feb082021 A new year and new rankings for the sustainability efforts in the office sector, where owners continued to invest in energy efficiency and sustainability features, despite their assets laying almost empty for nearly a year. We’re opening 2021’s LEED-based series with the top LEED-certified buildings in Texas in 2020. Data from the U.S. Green Building Council shows that 139 projects received the certification from the organization’s program in the Lone Star State last year. Combined, these projects represent more than 41.7 million gross square feet of space. Offices continued to lead rankings, followed by educational facilities and warehouses/distribution centers. The well-maintained gym at the corner of Ross and Akard streets is at the edge of plenty of development activity. It’s all marching east along Ross, with the overhaul of the Trammell Crow Center, the new retail-accented parking garage across the street, and Hall Arts’ continued expansion a few blocks north. On the other end of the block is the new Fountain Place Amli, 45 stories of luxury housing. According to JLL, the firm that’s brokering a deal, the post-Klyde Warren Park office boom has brought over 2 million square feet of office development since 2012.
