Tralee Bay Wetlands was a hive of activity early on Sunday morning as 203 runners did their final preparations ahead of the start of the annual and consistently popular Tralee Valentine’s 10-mile run.
What a week Tralee woman Ciara O’Callaghan has in store for herself over the next few days as the avid runner packs her bags and heads off to tackle the world famous New York City Marathon, the 52nd edition of which will take place on Sunday November 5.
The weather wasn’t exactly the best but as always the presence of rain on Saturday morning was not enough to dampen the spirits of those hardy runners who took part in the annual Tralee 10km run which had both it’s start and finish line along Neil Armstrong Way in Tralee Town Park.

A Galmoy man who has grappled with health battles in recent years has shown the power of perseverance and the support of others after completing a marathon across North Kilkenny to raise money for the CF Association and inspire others to take up running.
