Ozzie Edwards never considered himself a community activist, but the Brooklyn native admits things changed when he moved to Arverne. After he and his wife Belinda bought a condo on Beach 62nd Street a little more than a decade ago, Edwards began to investigate why the beaches near his new home weren’t manned by lifeguards.
