INDIANA - The Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) calls all “passionate outdoor recreation enthusiasts” to apply for a position that would provide the DNR feedback on trail issues across the state. The DNR seeks five people to fill the vacant positions on the 15-member Trails Advisory .
[cq comment="edited - jv" ]In June of 2021, when I was appointed as interim mayor, that left a vacancy for my Ward 5 Council seat. With only 30 days to recruit and appoint a replacement until the November election, I reached out to Todd Cohen who I met while I was first running for Council in 2017. Todd was already serving on the Open Space and Trails Advisory committee and was a fierce advocate for protecting our public open spaces particularly from large scale fracking operations. He also served two terms on City Council when he lived in Kansas making him better equipped than most to hit the ground running to finish a term. Thankfully, he answered the call to be of service and was appointed to my City Council seat.
