The National Driving School Association says its operators want to shutdown operations in all driving and licensing centres across Gauteng with protest action on Friday morning.

Gauteng Chairperson Abel Mositsa says some members of the association have already started gathering at the various traffic departments.
“We have decided to have a national march whereby we will be closing all 38 traffic departments in Gauteng. We’ve got 7 regions in Gauteng, all members in our regions are there at the traffic departments. They are closing and the leadership will be in Centurion from 7:30,” says Mositsa.

SRINAGAR: Traffic Department on Wednesday said that on February 18, 2021, subject to fair weather and better road condition only one-way traffic shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu. According to the advisory, TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic.
According to advisory no vehicle including live stock/fresh perishable shall be allowed in the opposite direction.
“TCU Srinagar shall liaise with TCU Ramban before releasing the traffic,” said the advisory.
“The weight bearing capacity of installed bailey bridge is less than 40 metric ton,” it added.
“LMVs will have to cross Zig Qazigund from 08:00 am to 12:00 pm and no vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing,” it said
It said that heavy motor vehicles shall be allowed Zig (Qazigund) towards Jammu after light motor vehicles.
“Government Forces are advised/requested not to ply against advisory/traffic plan in view of traffic congestion on Jammu-Srinagar NHW and narrowness of Bailey bridge. They may ply from Srinagar towards Jammu after confirming the status of highway,” it added.
