For crime this week, we are we had a fairly quiet week. We had no shooting incidents, no homicides in the past week. We are still at 29 homicides for the year compared to 37 this time last year so were down 22 . Overall were down 8 in part 1 crime. Our Violent Crime is down 10 a 22 decrease in homicides. Also, we have had a 22 decrease in our shooting victims. We have a total of 101 victims of gun violence this year so were 22 down im sorry, 84 this year compared to 101 this time last year. Our property crime, we are 7 down and continue to show a decrease in auto burglaries co
S. F. And they were very concerned about actually the numbers of citations being focused on the focus on five. So she has written us a letter and id like to address have you address some of these issues. One is the drastic drop in citation numbers. Im quoting from the public email that is sent. How is it possible that only 1500 red light tickets were issued, whereas 5,000 infraction tickets were given annually. In 2016, 13,000 speeding tickets were issued and much less are being issued in the last year . I spent time in a meeting with her and some of her staff listening to her concerns and getting her perspective and trying to understand what her concerns were and what they were trying to accomplish. Our strategy is to prioritize deployment in the highinjury network corridors that have been identified by data from traffic collisions throughout the city to increase enforcement and to educate members of the public especially the driving public about our strategies. I want to thank our executive director and her team for organizing the round table as well as the sfmta acting director and the mtc Deputy Director for joining the meeting which i stayed for the entire time. The medium of the day was state and local partnerships and we had much to discuss, beginning with the storied history of Infrastructure Projects that followed the earthquake that took place 30 years ago last week. It not only damaged the bridge but also frees and other structures in San Francisco. We were allowed to rebuild the embarcadoro structure. These land grants were helpful

If we were successful 60 of the time in stopping them coming back, we would realize 154 person reduction in our average daily jail population. Case processing reduction goals, of we just shortened Case Processing timelines, this is the time a case takes to go through the court system by 30 days, we would potentially see a 94 person reduction in the average daily population. Healthy connections and reduction goals, i will say that these arent unique, it cant all be added up together to equal a potential reduction because b. C. Overlap in the populations. So healthy connections, if you look at that comparison of time waiting in custody versus out in community, we could potentially see a reduction in 32 in terms of the average daily population.
