Maggie and Eugene Dawson spend a sunny afternoon in their backyard with their two children and their adopted nieces and nephews, the Alejandre children, on June 17 in Granger. The Dawson family almost immediately took in eight of the Alejandre children after their father, Jaime Munguia Alejandre, killed their mother on June 1, 2017. A jury found Alejandre guilty in December 2018 of second-degree murder and unlawfully disposing of a body. Today, Maggie and Eugene have created a home and a sanctuary for six of the children, making sure none of them would be split up.
