Recently, Cirque Eloize took on an international circus contract, one of the few in existence during the height of a world pandemic, in order to take part in an opening ceremony in Egypt. As the pandemic lingers, more artists and companies find themselves in the impossible position of having to choose between the risk of spreading a virus and that of working (and staying in business) at all.
In the midst of COVID-19 and pandemic hardship, Cirque Éloize was able to provide a performance for the World Men’s Handball Championship in Cairo, Egypt. This ceremony was not only a respite from coronavirus, but also a product of the collaboration between Egyptian representatives and Canadian creative industry leaders.

2020 posed unique challenges for business worldwide, particularly small businesses across Georgia. This is certainly true of Georgia exporters, who had to navigate unprecedented disruption in key markets around the world. were saying right there, pretty much alarm by the statements on the economy. what exactly are the aides saying behind the scenes? reporter: well, he is listening obviously to the hawks on his trade team, robert lighthizer, peter navarro. they are saying that other aides have not, you know, been countering the arguments effectively within the white house at times. they don t even know that the fight is happening. what that means is that the president is following his more confrontational instincts, his instincts to escalate rather than find a solution. this is part of the pattern. we have seen it with president trump again and again. he talks a big game. he adds tariffs. he speaks in a very hostile way toward china and suddenly he can pivot on a dime if he chooses to. what they say is happening now is this idea of ordering all companies to leave china, no papers are being drawn up, no order has been drafted but it is sent to send a signal to american businesses and a threat
the white house. his twitter feed has been slirnt the last few hours, he met earlier today with his trade team, trying to come up with a response to these new retaliatory tariffs from china, he s signaled that he s not backing down in fact he s trying to convince u.s. companies to pull out of china all together. saying the united states doesn t need china at all. and there s a big question this afternoon about what form will this response take. will we see president trump today, will he issue a written statement of some kind. will there be more forceful measures coming from the white house. we don t know as of this moment, but as you pointed out, wall street economists, investors, they have been hanging on every word from president trump. the markets reacting strongly to everything he s been saying on social media thus far. really the stakes are quite high for what president trump will say today.
