Clydebank teen Wiktoria Bak in running for apprentice award

A CLYDEBANK teenager is in the running to be named Scotland’s Foundation Apprentice of the Year this week. Wiktoria Bak, a former pupil at St Peter the Apostle High School, is one of the finalists in the 2021 Scottish Apprenticeship Awards. The ceremony will be held virtually this Thursday, March 4. Wiktoria undertook a foundation apprenticeship in social services and healthcare, and is now studying for a BSc in paramedic science at the University of the West of Scotland. The 18-year-old, who undertook a work placement with West Dunbartonshire Council’s Working 4U team as part of her apprenticeship, also used her Polish background to build relationships with service users while working in a day care centre.
