MANISTIQUE A Garden woman has been arraigned on a meth charge in Schoolcraft County, according to the Manistique Public Safety Department. Tracy Elizabeth Ernest, 58, was formally charged Jan. 12, in the 93rd District Court with one count of Controlled Substance – Delivery on School or Library Property (narcotics or cocaine) Less than 50 grams. The charge is a felony punishable by 2 to 60 years in prison and/or a $75,000 fine. Her bond was set at 10% of $10,000 cash/surety. She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Jan. 27 at 10 a.m.
The charge stems from a traffic stop on Saturday, Jan. 9 at 4:05 a.m. During the stop, Manistique Public Safety officers and the K-9 unit found Ernest in possession of methamphetamine. She was arrested immediately and lodged in the Schoolcraft County Jail.

MANISTIQUE A man was arraigned in 93rd District Court of Schoolcraft County on charges that include breaking and entering.
The Manistique Department of Public Safety reported that at 1:10 p.m. Jan. 1, public safety officers were dispatched to the Manistique Self Storage complex at South Fifth and Deer streets in Manistique on a report of breaking and entering of storage units located there.
Officers determined that four units had been burglarized. They contacted the owners and discovered that one of the units had a large number of items taken, including a Honda CB1000R motorcycle, motorcycle apparel, numerous other tools, miscellaneous equipment and a pressure washer.
