It is unlikely The Bahamas will be eligible for a waiver from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) new order that requires all travelers into the United States to have a negative COVID-19 test because it has “good testing facilities”, according to Bahamasair Chief Executive Officer Tracy Cooper.
“Our understanding relating to the CDC is that airlines can apply for a waiver, but that waiver is premised on if the country of origin has the ability or does not have the ability to test for COVID, to do the pre-test,” Cooper told
