A 5-day school week. The traditional routine for students, teachers, and parents alike for many years in the state. For some districts, that has changed.
The Community R-6 School District has found its new leader.
Nick Larson, currently the Montgomery County High School principal, will take over superintendent duties. He’ll replace Cheryl Mack, who plans to retire after the school year. Larson will officially begin his new duties July 1.
“I’m excited for my opportunity,” he said. “But I’m going to miss my staff and the people here within the Montgomery County School District. They’ve been great to me through the entirety of my time here. I’ll miss some of the people, but I’m excited about my new role.”
Larson is also excited that he will join his wife, Haley, at the R-6 school district. Haley teaches language arts at the high school.
