Lt. Gov. Randy McNally, R-Oak Ridge, has said he recently talked to the governor about allowing cities like Oak Ridge to have the authority to mandate that people wear masks at private businesses within the city.
McNally, who also represents Oak Ridge in the Tennessee Senate, spoke recently to the Rotary Club of Oak Ridge at a virtual meeting. He said he’d asked Tennessee Gov.Bill Lee about allowing cities to require face coverings indoors. McNally did not say Lee had responded yet. However, he told Oak Ridge Rotarian John Gunning he would keep him informed about the governor’s response.
