(ABC 6 News) - An event in Stewartville on Saturday brought many people together.
26 families gathered at the Ironwood Springs Christian Rank for an Autism Family Camp.
Families enjoyed activities like zip-lining, archery, BB gun shooting, and laser tag. In this case, it s the whole family coming together. They come here and we say this is a weekend where you don t have to say you re sorry. Sometimes people don t understand kids with autism and they don t understand when there s misbehavior and why that s happening, so they get upset. Here, we don t get upset, we just know it s normal, Tracy Bashore, executive director at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch said.

(ABC 6 News) - As summer camps are hit with COVID-19 outbreaks nationwide, the Minnesota Department of Health says there has only one outbreak reported in summer camps in the entire state. That outbreak being in a family camp.
Over the past two weeks, Minnesota has seen case numbers declining and test positivity rates have also been down. MDH says Minnesota is in a good place in terms of what is circulating in the state.
There is a team with MDH that has worked extensively with the American Camp Association over this past year to bring kids back to camps across the state safely.
