Police on Sunday identified a man who they said was taken into custody after leaving the scene of a car crash on I-80 Saturday morning where a woman was found dead with an apparent gunshot wound.

SALT LAKE CITY Police have identified a woman who was found dead with a gunshot wound while responding to a crash on I-80 Saturday morning.
South Salt Lake police spokeswoman Danielle Croyle said an altercation led to shots being fired in South Salt Lake about 3 a.m. A female was injured.
Sometime after that, a single-car crash was reported on I-80 near State Street. Utah Highway Patrol responded and found a female deceased, Croyle said. The victim appeared to have a gunshot wound. A man who was also in the car left the scene. Police located him and are questioning him, officials said.

5PM: Pleasant Grove Police negotiating with armed man; neighbors sheltering in place

PLEASANT GROVE A man who exchanged gunfire with police while barricading himself inside a Pleasant Grove house has been taken into custody, officials said on Twitter. Everyone involved is safe. We will be lifting the shelter in place order soon, Pleasant Grove City officials posted on Twitter.
Residents between the areas between 500 East and 600 East at 500 North were asked to shelter in place while police responded to reports of a man shooting a firearm.
Around 2:30 p.m., police received calls reporting that a man was shooting his firearm and pointing the weapon at bystanders, according to Pleasant Grove Police Capt. Britt Smith.
TOOELE Tooele firefighters rescued a man who was trapped in his second-story bedroom while his house was on fire Monday afternoon and transferred him to the University of Utah Burn Center.
The Tooele City Fire Department received a call about a possible house fire Monday afternoon, according to Chief Chris Shubert. When firefighters arrived at the home located at 314 E. 670 North in Tooele, they saw smoke. As crew members were getting ready to go inside the house, a woman arrived at the scene and said her husband was stuck in a bedroom on the second story of their home, Shubert said.
PROVO A Silver Alert has been canceled after an 89-year-old Provo man who has dementia, needs medications and was considered endangered was found safe.
Howard Edwards had last been seen in Provo around 11 a.m. Monday, according to the Provo Police Department. He recently moved to Provo and police thought he may be trying to travel back to Salt Lake City.
Edwards was found safe in Salt Lake City on Monday evening, Provo Police said in a tweet.
