Sometime after that, a single-car crash was reported on I-80 near State Street. Utah Highway Patrol responded and found a female deceased, Croyle said. The victim appeared to have a gunshot wound. A man who was also in the car left the scene. Police located him and are questioning him, officials said.

When firefighters arrived at the home located at 314 E. 670 North in Tooele, they saw smoke. As crew members were getting ready to go inside the house, a woman arrived at the scene and said her husband was stuck in a bedroom on the second story of their home, Shubert said.

Silver Alert canceled after 89-year-old Provo man found safe

PROVO A Silver Alert has been canceled after an 89-year-old Provo man who has dementia, needs medications and was considered endangered was found safe. Howard Edwards had last been seen in Provo around 11 a.m. Monday, according to the Provo Police Department. He recently moved to Provo and police thought he may be trying to travel back to Salt Lake City. Edwards was found safe in Salt Lake City on Monday evening, Provo Police said in a tweet. ×
