DOH Changes COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard Reporting

DOH Changes COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard Reporting DOH News: SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health (DOH) announced today changes to its COVID-19 vaccine dashboard. Beginning today, the state will report vaccinations based on the 18+ population. County-based totals will also be based on the 18+ population. Vaccinations among the 12-17 population will appear on the dashboard as well. The state had previously used a 16+ age grouping to report vaccinations, as well as a separate category for 12-15. “At the time we announced our goal of 60 percent vaccinated, only New Mexicans 16+ were eligible,” DOH Cabinet Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins said. “After meeting that goal, we’ve decided to modify our reporting to 18+ so as to align with White House and CDC reporting standards.”

Health Secretary Tracie Collins told members of a legislative panel she’s hopeful federal approval for different COVID-19 vaccinations for children under age 12 will be issued by December – if not sooner. Currently, only those 12 and older are eligible to receive the vaccine and slightly more than 30% of children between ages 12 and 15 had gotten at least one shot as of this week, according to Department of Health data.
