been particularly vicious. i also think that the response we ve seen from the house republicans is really disgraceful. the fact that we ve gotten to the point where we ve had an attack on the capitol, we had a president who sent a mob he knew was armed to try to stop the counting of electoral votes and who refused to tell the mob to go home for hours, and the response to that by my fellow republicans in the house is to try to embrace trump talking points and attack the people who want the country to understand what happened i think is really disgraceful. i think, look, our country is at a moment where we really have to all of us take a big step back and all of us say, look, the normal sort of vitriolic, toxic partisanship has got to stop. we ve got to recognize what s at stake, and individuals like those who are running the republican conference, who are the leadership of the republicans in the house need to
endorsement of this massive agenda. they re going to have to work on it and need 60 votes in the senate. let talk about this climate of toxic partisanship. nothing captures it better than the voice mail that congresswoman dingell got. i m going to play is so everybody understands the kinds of things or members of congress are subjected to every day. so listen to this voicemail you old senile you re as old and ugly abiden [ bleep ] you foul [ bleep ] they ought to incite you for treason every one of you sumbag [ bleep ] i hope your family dies in front of you. i prayed to got if you have any children, they die in your face. just grotesque, obviously.

delta is doubly infectious and it s also deadlier, because more people become ill. there s an interesting set of graphs, comparing the united states with the united kingdom, rapid increasing case counts in both places but in the united kingdom where they have a higher vaccination rate, they see a much lower increase in hospitalizations and deaths. that kind of divergence between cases and severe illness that you see in the united kingdom, you see much less of in the u.s., particularly in places where there isn t enough vaccination going on, and there aren t enough masks being worn indoors. really the fundamental point here is that vaccination and masks are our two most powerful tools, and they have themselves been infected with this toxic partisanship, a governor who bans school mask mandates is just being irresponsible.
toxic partisanship, you have parties competing, politicians competing over free giveaways and free promises, instead of governing and budgeting. so good to have you with us. thank you. protests in puerto rico are growing stronger. look at what s happening now, we have artists like lin-manuel miranda and ricky martin speaking out over what s happening. just moments before learning his fate, the notorious drug lord spoke in court taking a moment to complain. hear what he said. government by and for all the people -
