FG establishes 20 new marriage registries

The Federal Government has established 20 new Federal Marriage Registries across the country in a bid to bring Federal Marriage Registry closer to the grassroots.
Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this Friday in Abuja at a National Stakeholders’ Conference on the Administration and Conduct of Statutory Marriage in Nigeria.
According to him, efforts are ongoing to have Federal Marriage Registries in all the State Capitals of the Federation.
A statement issued by the ministry’s Department of Press and Public Relations and signed by Towoju Raphael added that the Minister was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Shuaib Belgore.

The Federal Government has flagged off an interagency training on Nigeria Internal Security and Public Safety Alert System NISPSAS as part of efforts to improve security agencies’ response to various threats to public peace and safety across the country.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has said that the actions of the nation’s security agencies may save Nigeria from current security challenges.
According to a statement on Thursday signed by Towoju Raphael on behalf of the ministry’s Director of Press, the minister spoke at the commencement of an inter-agencies training on Nigeria Internal Security and Public Safety Alert System in Abuja.
The statement was titled, ‘FG flags-off inter-agencies training on internal security, public safety alert system.’
“What you do may save Nigeria from security threats,” the minister, who was represented by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr Shuaib Belgore, was quoted as saying.

Rauf Aregebesola, minister of interior, said this is to ensure a seamless, transparent operation, as well as “accord human dignity to applicants and fulfil citizenship integrity in line with the mandate of the ministry”.
The minister stated this at a meeting with Muhammed Babandede, comptroller-general of NIS; passport officers, as well as attaches in Nigerian missions abroad, held at the immigration headquarters in Abuja, on Thursday.
According to a statement by Towoju Raphael, senior information officer at the ministry of interior, Aregbesola said it has become imperative to review the ministry’s operations and rejig its system in order to offer excellent services to clients.
