Stolen car crash, Rosslea
Police have charged a man following a traffic crash involving an alleged stolen vehicle on Sunday night.
It will be alleged around 6pm a stolen 2007 Hyundai Elantra was observed in the car park of a motel on Bowen Road.
Upon approach of specialist officers, it is further alleged the driver attempted to flee and crashed into the back of an unmarked police vehicle.
The car then left along Bowen Road.
A 36-year-old man was arrested at a Belgian Gardens address just after 10am today and was taken to the Townsville Watchhouse.
He has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving of a motor vehicle without a licence, evade police and serious assault of a police officer.
A teenager allegedly driving a stolen car involved in a fatal crash has been identified after trying to run from police through the backstreets of Rasmussen.

UPDATE, 2pm: THE teenager alleged to have been driving a stolen car involved in the death of Jennifer Board as been identified. Gregory Clubb, 18, was arrested at Rasmussen this morning after more than three days on the run since Ms Board s death on Friday night. It s alleged that Clubb was the driver of a Hyundai being dangerously chased by a Holden Statesman, which lost control and hit Ms Board after ramming the rear of the stolen vehicle. Another 18-year-old man believed to have been in the stolen car at the time was also arrested this morning.

Subscriber only THE man charged over the violent killing of a young man in Ingham s town centre has had a string of other unrelated charges heard in court. Police allege Caleb Rutherford, 24, fatally stabbed 20-year-old Josh Hyde as he walked home with two women on January 10. The 19 unrelated charges include serious assault of a corrective services officer, possession of a knife in a public place as well as multiple weapons and domestic violence charges.
