Tragic details of Dylon James Ahquee s final moments and his troubled history through the justice system were revealed at a coronial inquest on Wednesday. Mr Ahquee, 19, was found dead by his cellmate in his Townsville Correctional Centre cell on the night of Boxing Day 2015. Despite attempts by emergency services and correctives staff, he was unable to be revived.

Premium Content A NORTH Queensland corrections officer allegedly raped a colleague after a boozy social event with work mates. The woman was hit with rape and sexual assault charges after the alleged incident at an after work social event a group of employees attended. In an email sighted by the Townsville Bulletin, Corrective Services sent a letter to staff last week advising a staff member was charged with a criminal offence. The email was sent by Acting Chief Superintendent Louise Kneeshaw, who stepped into the prison s top job after former general manager Peter Hall was stood down last year over allegations he had inappropriate relationships with a staff member.

QCS Top Dogs crowned
General Purpose dog Tallis and Passive Alert Drug Detection dog Thommo have been crowned QCS Top Dogs for 2020.
The QCS Top Dog winners were announced yesterday, with Townsville Correctional Complex and Wolston and Brisbane Women’s correctional centres scooping the pool in the five part virtual competition.

GP dog Tallis and his handler Ryan wowed the judges with their in-synch, enthusiastic performance in the obedience and agility sections of the competition, while PADD dog Thommo and his handler Scott from Wolston and Brisbane Women’s showed their mettle in the search challenge.
