Among the many recipients is the Town of Sylvania, which will see 1.3 miles of resurfacing.
The project will include Sixth Street SW for 1.3 miles from Burnt Church Road (County Road 102) to Blue Pond Boulevard West (County Road 27) and will total $245,665.
The funding is made available through the Annual Grant Program, a program created under the Rebuild Alabama Act. The Rebuild Alabama Act, overwhelmingly passed by the Legislature and signed by Governor Ivey in 2019, requires ALDOT to establish an annual program setting aside $10 million off the top of the stateâs share of new gas tax revenue for local projects.
