Hyzon Motors buys former Branson building, expanding operations in HF

Cuomo announced on Thursday, February 18, that fuel cell vehicle company HYZON Motors, established by Asia-based Horizon Fuel Cell Technologies, will further grow its operations in the Village of Honeoye Falls in Monroe County, creating 100 new jobs over the next three years. The next generation fuel cell heavy vehicle supplier will renovate 78,000 square-feet of existing building space on Quaker Meeting House Road, the former Branson plant, where the company will manufacture next-gen fuel cells for heavy- and medium-duty commercial vehicles. HYZON Motors first established its US operations in 2020 in Honeoye Falls. The company has developed hydrogen fuel cell stacks that can provide up 150kW of power, and expect to launch fuel cell systems capable of 300kW in 2022.

Chief Warrant Officer Two Daniel Prial, age 30, of Warwick in Orange County, was killed on Wednesday, Jan. 20, when the UH-60 medical evacuation helicopter based at the Army Aviation Support Facility at Rochester International Airport crashed in the Town of Mendon, which is about 17 miles south of Rochester, while on a routine training mission, killing all three pilots who were on board, said Colonel Richard Goldenberg the New York National Guard Public Affairs Officer. Prial, a graduate of Warwick High School, had served in the Army since 2012 after earning a commission at the United States Military Academy at West Point.

The New York Army National Guard confirmed three soldiers were killed during the training mission. The helicopter was based at the Army Aviation Support Facility at Rochester International Airport. The names of the three soldiers haven t been released but Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus confirmed at least one person is from Orange County. At least one of the individuals is from Orange County, Neuhaus said during his daily COVID-19 update. I will let you know if there s something we can do to support the family, whether the individual will be buried at the Orange County Veterans Cemetery. The New York Army National Guard UH-60 medical evacuation helicopter crashed while on a routine training mission just after 6:30 p.m. The helicopter, also known as a medical Black Hawk, was based at the Army Aviation Support Facility at the Greater Rochester International Airport. The unit trains to perform medical evacuations and the crew was conducting night vision goggle proficiency training in the area.
