LISBON Two people are facing meth possession charges after a traffic stop, and one of them is facing an additional weapons possession felony county.
State troopers say around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, they pulled over a blue 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse on state Route 68 for having an inadequate exhaust.
The driver, 46-year-old Bobby J. LaFave of Canton was found to have a suspended license, and was also in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, troopers allege.
A passenger in LaFave’s vehicle, 42-year-old Jason R. Menard of Ogdensburg, was also allegedly found in possession of a quantity of methamphetamine, and metal knuckles. Menard was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility without bail, troopers said.
