Letter: Hopkinton votes on fair redistricting

Letter: Hopkinton votes on fair redistricting Published: 4/29/2021 9:00:25 AM On May 1 the voters of Hopkinton will have the opportunity to join over 50 New Hampshire cities and towns by voting in favor of Article 11 on the Town Warrant, the N.H. Resolution for Fair Nonpartisan Redistricting. This article will ask the select board to inform the Redistricting Commission of the legislature that the Town of Hopkinton supports fair and open meetings and fair redistricting as the new maps are prepared for our congressional representatives, our executive council, our state senate and our state representatives after the 2020 Census. The maps should not be drawn for any political party or candidate. Fair maps will uphold the principle of one person, one vote. Vote yes on Article 11 so we can add our voices to those of voters across New Hampshire requesting that this process be conducted fairly and openly.
