His business’s tagline is to “keep the community going,” regardless of whether or not he gets anything in return for it.
That’s how Russ Crosby, owner of Russ’s Wrench Auto Repair in Clinton, explained his annual tradition of gathering his staff to clean and beautify the Welcome to Clinton signs posted around the community.
“As a business owner, and specifically in the automotive industry, my job is to fill a need,” Crosby said. “You’re pulling into one of the most beautiful towns in the nation . and all of these signs are depicting this beautiful Red Mill. But the areas around them and the signs are a little dirty.

CLINTON – State and local officials traveled to Clinton on Friday, April 23, to announce the designation of nine Massachusetts cities and towns as Green Communities.
The municipalities, which have committed to clean energy and energy efficiency goals to reduce energy usage and lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the program and are now eligible for grants totaling over $1.4 million. Clinton was presented with a $164,753 grant, which will support energy efficiency projects and the completion of weatherization projects at Clinton’s Town Hall and library.
