FAIRHAVEN Much to the disappointment of some local residents, Fairhaven will once again keep the upcoming Annual Town Meeting, scheduled for June 12, to a remote format.
With the Governor’s Executive Order for the pandemic still present even as restrictions are being loosened, the Board is allowed to hold town meetings remotely and reduce quorums by as low as 10% of regular capacity in order to conduct essential business.
At the April 26 Board of Selectmen meeting Town Moderator Mark Sylvia explained despite the progression the state has made with vaccinations, and other municipalities holding their spring town meetings in person, he determined that it is not safe for Fairhaven to follow suit.
