The Town Caucus originally scheduled to be held on Monday, March 8, will not be held due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Instead, this year we will be preparing nomination papers for each of the 12 open positions on elected boards for 2021.
The following positions are open:
Moderator (one position for a one-year term)
Board of Selectmen (one position for a three-year term)
Board of Assessors (one position for a three-year term)
Dover School Committee (one position for a three-year term)
Dover-Sherborn School Committee (one position for a three-year term)
Sherborn Select Board discusses vaccine, library project

SHERBORN Board of Health Chairwoman Daryl Beardsley brought the Sherborn Select Board up to speed on what is next for the ongoing effort to vaccinate people in Massachusetts, including the status of teachers on the eligibility list, at its March 4 meeting.
Chairman Eric Johnson posed this question to Beardsley, who said “teachers and other essential workers are up next, but there’s a particular focus on teachers.” She said the health and hygiene committee at the school district has been investigating the issue of assisting with getting them vaccinated.

In what ways do you think the pandemic will shape the future governance of Bedford?
Fleischman: The pandemic has created challenges and opportunities regarding town governance. Overall, our democratic institutions have held up well: Town Meeting was successful; despite significant logistical hurdles and heat and health concerns, turn-out was robust. Although our Town Caucus was canceled, we have many contested municipal races. Public participation in remote meetings of boards and committees has increased. Our future governance model, constrained by state law, should to the greatest extent possible retain the elements of increased access and transparency that we have experienced during the pandemic and leverage technology to ensure that these gains are not lost once normalcy returns.
