Final Draught: Cooking with Cats with Sheri Lynch

Final Draught is a themed, quarterly discussion series featuring local thought leaders, beer and books – and we’re thrilled to return in-person to Town Brewing Company! This event will feature a presentation by best-selling author and radio personality Sheri Lynch about her latest book. Sheri Lynch is an award-winning broadcaster, the author of two best-selling books, and holds a Masters Degree in Social Work. Sheri is also an intermediate-level tap dancer, a crazy cat/dog lady, and the mom of 2 or 6 or 9 kids, depending on who’s home for dinner. A Philadelphia native who was raised in northwestern Wyoming, she’s a bookworm, a pop culture fanatic, and an enthusiastic fan of aliens, Bigfoot, zombies, abandoned places, and goofy Americana. When she’s not tormenting Bob Lacey, you can usually find her dragging her husband to visit The World’s Largest Spatula or something equally riveting. About the Book: Sheri’s third book, Cooking with Cats: Favorite Recipes of Crazy Cat

Charlotte breweries partner to diversity craft beer industry

Black people drink beer, too : Charlotte breweries pushing for more diversity in craft beer A group of Charlotte brewery owners are teaming up to create more diversity in a booming industry currently dominated by white males. Author: Billie Jean Shaw Updated: 7:29 AM EDT April 7, 2021 CHARLOTTE, N.C. The craft beer industry is a staple in many cities but there are some major disparities when it comes to ownership of these businesses.  Did you know that out of nearly 9,000 breweries nationwide only 1% of them are Black-owned? A few local Charlotte people are working very hard to change that.  The group includes Lashae Johnson, a Black woman, who started her journey to own a brewery. She recently discussed her business with WCNC Charlotte s Billie Jean Shaw in the most recent For The Culture feature.
