A generous contribution by British Airways to the Caribbean Tourism Recovery Fund of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) was gratefully received by its president, Karolin Troubetzkoy this week.
Speaking at World Travel Market in London, where the check was presented on behalf of British Airways and British Airways Holidays, Troubetzkoy warmly thanked the airline’s representatives: “This is not just a handshake, this is a £25,000 handshake! On behalf of our Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association, we are extremely grateful!”
In addition to the contribution to the Caribbean Tourism Recovery Fund of CHTA, which represents private sector tourism companies, Troubetzkoy noted the British airline also presented an additional £25,000 to the intergovernmental Caribbean Tourism Organization for its fund.
Nine Cariboo-Chilcotin-Coast Indigenous Tourism businesses receive provincial support

The Province has provided $5 million through the BC Indigenous Tourism Recovery Fund, $305,000 of that is coming to the Cariboo.
Indigenous Tourism businesses in BC received up to $45,000 dollars from the fund to pay for rent, utility, installing health and safety measures, and shifting services online.
“Indigenous tourism was the fastest-growing segment of B.C.’s tourism industry before the pandemic, and we’re determined to maintain this momentum,” says Melanie Mark, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport. “These grants are demonstrating reconciliation in action by ensuring people working in Indigenous tourism can continue inviting visitors for years to come.”

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - While COVID-19 hit our tourism industry hard, the downturn has not been as severe as expected. Coast tourism is performing among the best in the nation.
That’s according to the latest tourism research released Thursday morning by Coastal Mississippi CEO Milton Segarra at a meeting with the Gulf Coast Business Council.
Segarra says South Mississippi tourism has seen success and growth in the past year, thanks in part to the the $3.4 million the Coast was awarded from the Tourism Recovery Fund.
