The law, if passed, will regulate the activities of tour operators and tour guides for the development of the country s tourism sector and protect the interests of tourists.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali presented the ‘Bangladesh Tour Operator and Guide (Registration and Operation) Bill-2021’ in parliament on Saturday.
The bill was later sent to the parliamentary standing committee on the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. The committee was asked to examine the bill and submit a report to the parliament within a month.

Look after Biman aircraft, improve passenger service: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today asked all concerned at Biman Bangladesh Airlines to take good care of all the aircraft in its fleet and ensure better passenger service. Sixteen new aircraft have been procured with public money, and there re now 21 aircraft in Biman s fleet. These should be kept safe alongside providing better services to passengers. I m asking you to give special attention to all this, she said.
The Prime Minister said this while inaugurating the two new aircraft Akash Tori and Shwetbalaka at the VVIP Terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, aiming to increase flight frequencies and expand the services of the national flag carrier, particularly on domestic routes.

DHAKA, March 14, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today commissioned two new Dash 8-Q400 aircrafts in Biman Bangladesh fleet three months after the state-run airlines inducted one short haul craft of same brand, which now enhanced the fleet strength to 21.
“. . . the more we can improve the passenger services [of Biman] people will be benefited and the country will be developed,” the premier told the commissioning ceremony of the crafts.
She expected that these modern aircrafts would help Biman strengthen its domestic and regional connectivity.
Sheikh Hasina urged Biman to perform its duties with all sincerity as the national airlines, since millions of people had to shed their blood for Bangladesh’s independence.
