PETER CRANIS: Memorial Day Weekend is Kickoff to Summer Travel Season, $2 6 Million Marketing Campaign Underway

PETER CRANIS: As we go into the Memorial Day Weekend and kickoff the Summer travel season, AAA is estimating over 42 million Americans will travel more than 50 miles from their home – this is up over the prior year from 40 million. Recently we took a look at our Spring Break business, and the month of March resulted in the highest Tourist Development Tax collection for a month in history at $3.1 million. 

PETER CRANIS: March Brevard Tourist Development Tax Comes in at Record-Shattering $3 173 Million

March Tourist Development Tax (TDT) has come in at $3.173 million – not only a record for the month of March but the first time we have broken the $3 million mark in a single month and now the highest month in our history. This beat the previous two best months of March – 2022 at $2.797 million and 2019 at $2.095 million. 

PETER CRANIS: Cellular Data Shows Domestic Visitors to Brevard Was Approximately 22 4 Million in 2022

PETER CRANIS: I recently received a report from our cellular data company, Motion Works, and it was very interesting. It showed domestic visitors to our area that stayed more than two hours was approximately 22.4 million in 2022.

We purposely wanted to launch the unprecedented $1.6 million campaign in mid-January, as we knew that many other destinations would be out there marketing to consumers following a long hiatus due to COVID.
