這起事件發生在今年2月9日凌晨2點，游姓老翁擅取房東存放的備份鑰匙準備闖空門，沒想到開門就驚醒熟睡的獨居女子，游翁手持摺疊刀恐嚇說「我要搶劫，但不會傷害妳」，女子不敢反抗從衣櫃拿出裝有2150元的存錢筒給游翁，游翁得手後離去，返回自己的租屋處。
判決書指出，狡猾的游翁事後還將鑰匙丟棄在附近醫院的停車場，將得手的存錢筒內錢財取出後，把存錢筒丟棄在租屋處附近的公園樹下，警方獲報後循線逮到游男，並查扣犯案時所穿戴的帽子、口罩、折疊刀，及贓款2150元。
法官審理時，認為被告曾經對親屬觸犯加重強制性交罪，遭判刑有期徒刑8年，按月領取彰化縣政府中低收入老人生活經貼，被逮時游翁還辯稱，當時是跟被害人問說有沒有錢可以給他，被害人就直接給他現金，他強調是跟對方借錢，不是搶劫。
