ETFO said the agreement reached with the government for its 3,500 education worker members includes an additional 0.75 per cent in salary increases for the first two years of the contract covered by Bill 124, with the amount for the third year to be decided by an arbitrator.
The union, which represents about 1,400 paramedics in Toronto, has been raising the alarm on the lack of paramedic resources for years, issuingĀ almost 2,500 code red alerts in 2022 and 1,139 the year before.
A 'code red alert' was issued for a portion of Monday meaning there were no transport ambulances available in Toronto, according to the paramedic union.
