it s the top of hour on cnn newsroom. first on cnn, another development in the growing discoveries involving classified documents. a lawyer for former vice president mike pence discovered about a dozen classified documents at pence s indiana home last week. several sources tell cnn that attorney turned over those classified records to the fbi. the fbi and the justice department s now national security division has launched an investigation. the discovery comes after the former vp into how classified materials were found in the private homes of president biden and former president trump. cnn s evan perez joins us now. this is getting really, really messy, what more can you tell us about these documents now at the former vice president s home? reporter: this is very messy, especially for the vice president and everyone who s been handling these classified documents. the vice president s team was doing these searches out of an abundance of caution because of what they

tornado watches. and this line of storms that continues to pound central tennessee, as well as central kentucky with strong winds in excess of 60 miles per hour. and some encompassing tornadoes wedged within these lines of thunderstorms that are currently moving through the nashville area. getting into a little hyper-local detail. you can see nashville. this is davidson county where nashville is located. the tornado warning continue through 4:00 a.m. central time. this also includes sumner and wilson county. this tornado continues to move in a north-northeasterly direction. the actual tornado signals, just to the north of downtown nashville. this is actually a new tornado box that s been issued across basically the same thunderstorm cell. we re getting a 3d or 3d perspective of this, we re note tigging that the top portions of this superstorm thunderstorm,
in police. it s 3 degrees in denver for christmas morning. it s so warm across parts of the south once you get to the gulf we have severe weather concerns. one tornado box will expire at 1:00 over new orleans. there is another batch that are going to begin to pull in towards the houston area and this tornado watch box in effect until 4:00. you ll get a little brit o bit of a break in these storms. and then potentially looking at large, destructive tornadoes. that s why we are concerned about. look at this temperature right here, 9 degrees in omaha, 24 in oklahoma city. the temps plumb it behind the storm and we still watch the severe weather pull off to the south. we will be dealing with blizzard conditions across parts of missouri. i want to show you this bulls sigh for the threat for severe
this is a tornado box. the most likely tornados for now and the next couple of hours is from the outer banks through camp lejeune near jacksonville and also to wilmington. right now we just had near camp lejeune a new report of a tornado possibility. that s why you see this fill-in right here. that is a tornado warning. doesn t mean there is a big one on the ground, but a possibility of tornados in that area. everyone should be in safe rooms listening to the radio and tv. hopefully shouldn t be too bad. if i get any details of any tornados near that area, i ll let you now. you see these numbers on here. these are weather reporting stations that tell us how strong the winds are. we are starting to get stronger gusts now. we just had a gust of 55 on hatteras near cherry point.
