BRIDGEPORT A city tax preparer was indicted and pleaded not guilty to a number of federal tax fraud offenses, according to prosecutors.
A federal grand jury in Hartford returned a 14-count indictment against 37-year-old Torise Baker on April 6. She appeared via video conference Wednesday before Judge S. Dave Vatti and entered a plea of not guilty to the charges.
Baker was released on bond.
Authorities said Baker prepared tax returns for clients through a multi-service business she operated in Bridgeport.
