Mizzou freshman phenom Jenna Laird is the SEC freshman of the year. The conference announced its yearly awards on Tuesday, and Mizzou was well represented.
In total - MU had five players named to All-SEC teams. Laird was also named First Team All-SEC. The New York native added an All-SEC freshman team nod as well.

Laird hit .410 during SEC play with seven home runs and 37 RBI. She s just the third MU player to ever win conference freshman of the year - joining Tori Finucane in 2014 and Rhea Taylor in 2008.
