OHT Gets $135M Loan for Alfa Lift

Oslo-listed offshore heavy transport and wind installation company OHT has received and accepted a firm offer for a USD 135 million Senior Secured Green ECA Credit Facility.
The loan was accepted by OHT s ship owing company OHT Alfa Lift AS, which is building the offshore wind foundation installation vessel Alfa Lift in China.
OHT ordered the Alfa Lift on speculation in 2018, and has since secured contracts to install foundations at the world s largest wind farm -
The loan has a five-year term and a 12-year repayment profile.

Located 130km off the Yorkshire Coast, the 3.6 GW offshore wind project will consist of three phases – each at 1.2GW, and will cover an area of 1675 km2, larger than Greater London.
The three phases were previously known as Creyke Beck A, Creyke Beck B and Teesside A.

GE Renewable Energy will establish its marshaling harbor activities at Able Seaton Port in Hartlepool, serving as the base for turbine service equipment, installation, and commissioning activities for Dogger Bank A and B.
The port will see the delivery of component parts for each of GE’s Haliade-X 13MW wind, including the nacelle, three tower sections, and three 107m long blades, for pre-assembly on-site at Able Seaton prior to transport out to the North Sea for installation.

The new offshore wind foundation installation vessel Alfa Lift has been floated out of dry dock at the China Merchants Heavy Industries (CMHI) shipyard where the semi-submersible is under construction for Norwegian-based Offshore Heavy Transport (OHT).
Designed by Ulstein, the MV Alfa Lift is touted as the largest and most innovative offshore wind foundation installation vessel in the world. With delivery scheduled in late 2021 or early 2022, the vessel will be used to install wind turbine monopiles and jackets at Equinor’s Dogger Bank, the largest offshore wind farm in the world located in the North Sea off England.
OHT reports that with the vessel launched, it will now be moored at the shipyard as work continues on the steel and internal fit-out. Meanwhile, key elements of the vessel’s Liebherr main crane have been completed in Rostock, Germany, including the slewing column and the A-frame. The parts are scheduled to leave Rostock early this month for delivery
