KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Police are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash in Cass County.
The accident happened around 10:15 Saturday evening on a trail near the intersection of Indian Lake Road and Topash Street in Silver Creek Township.
Investigators say three snowmobilers were involved. Two were traveling westbound, while the other was traveling eastbound before approaching a hill and colliding, killing 45 year old Keith Wesbster of Elkhart Indiana.
The other two drivers were taken area hospitals.  Authorities say that helmets were worn and that speed does appear to be a factor in the crash.

CASS COUNTY, Mich. – Three snowmobiles crash, leaving one dead and two injured, in Silver Creek Township on Saturday night, Cass County Sheriff’s Office said.
Keith Webster, a 45-year-old Elkhart resident, has passed away due to the injuries sustained at the crash.
One victim was transported to the hospital by Medflight. The other was taken by ambulance.
The crash took place near the intersection of Indian Lake Road and Topash Street around 10:16 Saturday night.
The investigation shows that two of the snowmobilers were traveling west on the snowmobile trail. Webster was traveling east, according to deputies. When the groups approached a hill, they collided, deputies said.
