but with this so-called tax reform fight, what it s about is, of course, giving huge tax breaks to billionaires like donald trump. they want to repeal the estate tax which applies only to the top two-tenths of 1%. they want to give massive tax breaks to corporations although we have major corporations today making billions of profrts who already don t pay a nick until federal income tax. so tax reform is an important issue and when you have massive levels of income and wealth inequality, very, very rich are getting much richer while the middle-class shrinks. what we have got to demand is the wealthiest people and largest corporations start paying their fair share of taxes and that s the effort i hope we can bring people together around. that battle is going to be a fascinating one in a completely different way. you also wonder whether defeat begets defeat and people start to smell blood that it s a political reality.
