Not a dry eye in the house. That was the consensus at the Woman's Club on Saturday night, Jan. 20, at the Laguna Beach High School (LBHS) Theatre Boosters Gala: A Night at the Copacabana. The LBHS Theatre Boosters organized the Gala to raise awareness and funds for the school's theatre program. However, a secret part of the Gala was to honor Laguna Beach resident Angela Irish for over 30 years of service to the LBHS Theatre program.
Laguna Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) has chosen Shannon Chastain, a third-grade teacher at El Morro Elementary School, as its Teacher of the Year and Lynn Gregory, College and Career Specialist at Laguna Beach High School, as Classified Employee of the Year.

Leone Knickerbocker Brockman was born July 10, 1931, in Phoenix, Arizona. As a child, her family lived in Belmont Shores, Bellflower and eventually ended up in Santa Ana in 1940. Leone attended Santa Ana High, where she met the love of her life, Leonard Brockman at the Senior Breakfast. Leonard and Leone graduated together, the class of 1949. Leone enrolled at Whittier College and graduated with a degree in education.
