Nearly 100 people turned out for egg hunt event at Ovila Case playground

GARDNER A local man is hoping that the local egg hunt he sponsored recently will become an annual spring tradition in the community.
Don Christian, the owner of Top Dog Construction and Custom Creations, said he established the event, which took place at Oliva Case Playground on April 11, so that local children could have something fun to do after being cooped up for the past year because of the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown. And he also said that he was inspired by his 8-year-old son, Donovan.
“(He) has been so depressed and having the hardest time because he’s at that age where he should be having all sorts of fun with his friends. But with COVID, I feel like this whole generation is suffering,” said Christian. “I think it’s another aspect of this pandemic that we’re not all seeing.”
