China's ambassador to Estonia, Guo Xiaomei, warned at a meeting with chairman of the Estonia-China parliamentary group Toomas Kivimägi that the opening of a Taipei representative office could lead to her departure from Estonia, the daily Postimees writes.
Pärnu City Council member Andres Metsoja (Isamaa) told ERR on Monday, that a change of power is about to take place in the city, which will involve Isamaa replacing the Center Party in the council's coalition.
Mayor of Pärnu Romek Kosenkranius (Pärnu Ühendab) denies claims that he is seeking to remove the Center Party from the city's government, adding that it is Center who are attempting to ring the changes, amid controversy over the potential issuing of several million euros of state funds for the construction of a bridge in the city.
An early warning system installed in the southwestern city of Pärnu in 2008 was subsequently dismantled, as the result of political infighting. The sirens were intended for a range of warnings, including natural disasters and chemical incidents.
