OXFORD — Incumbent Oxford Mayor Jackie Sergent has filed for re-election, seeking her sixth term in an office she’s held since 2011. The race for city commissioners seats in Oxford has also gained more candidates, with incumbent Patricia Fields joining challengers Bryan Cohn and John Oliver in a contest for four available seats, the N.C. State Board of Elections reported. Fields is seeking her second term on the Oxford commissioners. The remaining seats are currently held by incumbents Quon Bridges, Danny Currin and Calvin Harris. Harris ran for mayor against Sergent in 2019 and received almost 44% of the vote. Sergent won with almost 52%.
