March is reading month and while it’s no secret that Michigan students test below the national average when it comes to reading comprehension and writing, Michigan teachers are doing everything they can to help students improve their reading skills.
SOUTHFIELD The United Way for Southeast Michigan’s Tech United team, a group of local CEOs and IT professionals committed to closing the digital divide and providing STEM opportunities for students, unveiled a new makerspace to Adlai Stevenson Elementary School Feb. 2.
In the span of three years, United Way Southeast Michigan, numerous community partners and volunteers transformed a classroom into what’s called a “Creative Makerspace” for STEM learning or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
SOUTHFIELD The United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s Tech United Initiative aims to bridge the digital divide among students by providing technology to schools to amplify learning through their team of southeast Michigan executives and IT professionals.
