Tony Wichman is the kind of guy who has been pretty busy most of his life. For the last 47 years he has been in the banking business. At the same time he spent the last 26 years as chief of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. There was even a 14 year span when he was a Daviess County Commissioner. The idea of Wichman stepping back from anything almost seems foreign. But he says that at the end of this year he is leaving banking.

Christmas came a little early for the members of the Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department. Members of the department recently traveled to Alabama to purchase a 2010 pumper truck. The truck, which was originally used by a department a Texas, replaces an aging Engine 9 and Rescue 9.
