New Blu-ray Releases: Memories of Murder, Nomadland, and More – /Film

Posted on Friday, April 30th, 2021 by Chris Evangelista Still clinging to physical media like a drowning person clinging to a life preserver? Me too, reader. Me too. Which is why I’ve compiled a round-up of some recent Blu-ray releases you’re going to want to check out. Memories of Murder Bong Joon-ho‘s 2003 masterpiece returns, restored by the Criterion Collection. The film remains just as haunting and memorable as it was all those years ago – perhaps even more so now. What s new to VOD and streaming this weekend: April 23 to 25 | Georgia Straight Vancouver s News & Entertainment Weekly

Among the new releases are Stowaway, Chaos Walking, Shadow And Bone, and The Marksman by Norman Wilner on April 23rd, 2021 at 7:30 PM 1 of 5 2 of 5 Our critics pick what’s new to streaming and VOD for the weekend of April 23, and list everything new to VOD and streaming platforms. Stowaway (Joe Penna) Just hours into a two-year mission to Mars, three astronauts (Anna Kendrick, Daniel Dae Kim, Toni Collette) are shocked to discover an extra passenger: a launch support engineer (Shamier Anderson) who was knocked out in an accident before liftoff, and can’t be returned to Earth. That’s the premise that kicks off this speculative drama from the creators of the Mads Mikkelsen survival thriller Arctic and this one’s even more focused and intense. Refreshingly, there’s no tension between the crew and the new guy: once it’s clear he’s not a saboteur, everyone is downright hospitable. But what does his presence mean for the ship’s fuel, oxygen and food resources?
