Laura plummer, whos 33 and from hull, was arrested in october with 290 tablets of the painkiller, tramadol, which is banned in egypt. My colleague in cairo, hanan razek, has been speaking to laura plummers family who say they are shocked by todays sentencing. I was just speaking to lauras mother and she tells me she is still shocked after the verdict. She says she cannot believe it after waiting the two months and then having this verdict. Back in october laura was arrested as she tried to enter the country and they found around 300 tramadol tablets in her suitcase.
