A swimmer hoping to make his Olympic debut this year in Tokyo has opened up about his use of cosmetics outside of the pool - and how more men are embracing skincare.
Lachlan Carter, 23, from Brisbane, spends about 30 hours in the pool each week as he prepares to trial for the upcoming Games, with constant exposure to chlorine wreaking havoc on his skin.
Mr Carter will be trialing for the 50m and 100m freestyle sprints in June hoping to make the Aussie team for Tokyo.
The young athlete now swears by a range of skincare products - including a moisturiser and concealer - to help his skin recover from the exhausting swimming sessions, adding his fellow teammates are also on board.
